Considering Matthew Shepard turns a real tragedy into a genre-crossing oratorio. Conceived by Craig Hella Johnson, it weaves classical choral writing with musical theatre, opera, spoken word, pop, blues and country — drawing on poetry, journalism and personal artifacts. This Singapore staging is led by Choy Siew Woon as Artistic Director and Seong Hui Xuan as Stage Director, with performers from Singapore.
The work reflects on the 1998 murder of Matthew Shepard and its aftermath, offering a powerful meditation on compassion and humanity. It's presented in English with a running time of 2 hours.
