Christmas 🎄
Fake snow at 31°C, a light-up you can walk the length of Orchard Road, and a market for every kind of mulled wine. Here’s what’s on this Christmas, from the free stuff to the ticketed shows.
Every December
The ones that come back every year. Where 2026’s dates are out we say so; where they aren’t yet, here’s how last year ran.
The Nutcracker’s whole second act, Rutter’s Gloria and carols with the SSO choruses.
Tip: Ages 5 and up — no infants or toddlers. It’s also livestreamed free on SSO’s YouTube and meWatch.
Hours and prices checked against each operator’s own site, 18 Oct 2026. They do change — confirm before heading down. Spot something wrong? Tell us.
The 2026 dates hadn’t been announced when we last checked (18 Oct 2026). Last year the lights came on with a ceremony on Saturday 8 November and stayed up until 1 January. We’ll update this page as soon as the Orchard Road Business Association announces.
It has run every year for 12 years, but Gardens by the Bay hadn’t posted 2026 dates or prices when we checked. In 2025 it ran from 29 November to 1 January, 6.30pm to 11pm, with tickets from $9 bought in advance.
Walking the Orchard Road light-up, the light projections on UOB Plaza and The Fullerton at Marina Bay, the Esplanade’s free December shows, and Jewel’s nightly Rain Vortex show all cost nothing. The Orchard Christmas villages are free to walk around; rides and food are extra.
Yes. Christmas Day is Friday 25 December 2026, a public holiday, so it’s a three-day weekend. Christmas Eve is a Thursday.
The week’s best events, picked and summarised. Free forever.
