Duke Ellington and Count Basie, played by Singapore's own JASSYO youth jazz orchestra at Esplanade Concert Hall — and it's free.
Duke Ellington and Count Basie are on the setlist, and the band playing them is made up of young Singaporean jazz musicians. The Jazz Association Singapore Youth Orchestra — JASSYO, for short — takes the Esplanade Concert Hall stage with a programme that swings from big band classics to contemporary tunes, all in English and all dispatched inside an hour.
It happens on Sunday 1 Nov 2026, from 2pm to 3pm, at 1 Esplanade Drive. Free entry, one hour, done by three — an easy shape for a Sunday: roll up after lunch, hear some Ellington and Basie, and still have the rest of the afternoon.
