Sandra Oh leads Martin Crimp's update of Molière's dark comedy, filmed live at the National Theatre and screened at the Esplanade.
Sandra Oh takes the lead in Martin Crimp's updated take on Molière's dark comedy, The Misanthrope — and if you missed it on stage, this is the recorded version, captured live at the National Theatre and shown on screen. Oh comes with awards behind her, and Crimp's rewrite puts a modern edge on a play that has been sour about human behaviour for a few centuries now.
The screening runs at the Singtel Waterfront Theatre at Esplanade on 1 Esplanade Drive, from Thu 3 to Sat 5 Dec 2026. Each showing starts at 7.30pm and runs 1h 43min, finishing around 9.05pm — dinner before, supper after, no rush either way. Tickets are S$28, the production is in English, and admission is for ages 6 and above.
