Robin Stevens and Louise Hegarty on why Agatha Christie still lands on bestseller lists, 50 years after her death.
Fifty years after Agatha Christie died, her books are still turning up on bestseller lists — and two crime writers are at Victoria Theatre to work out how she keeps getting away with it. Robin Stevens, who wrote the Murder Most Unladylike series, is joined by Louise Hegarty for an hour of proper crime-fiction talk, presented as part of Singapore Writers Festival 2026.
The session runs Sun 22 Nov 2026, 11am to noon, at Victoria Theatre. Stevens's Murder Most Unladylike books have pulled in a lot of young readers along the way, so expect a room that mixes long-time Christie hands with newer recruits to the genre. One hour, one stage, two writers who know their way around a plot.
