SSO Pops brings Kapustin, Gershwin and Puts to Esplanade Concert Hall – jazz-inflected classical, one night only.
Singapore Symphony Orchestra's Pops series turns up the cool with a programme that swings: Kapustin's Piano Concerto No. 2 has jazz written all over it with saxophones, drum set and guitar sharing the stage, while Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue needs no introduction. Pianist Frank Dupree takes the solo bench, and Kevin Puts's six-part Concerto for Orchestra rounds out the night.
