The Singapore Symphony Orchestra's chamber players scale things down for Divertissement, putting horn, clarinet, bassoon and strings on the Esplanade Black Room stage with selected movements from chamber works written for winds and strings. Someone from the group speaks between the pieces, so the context arrives before the music rather than in a programme note you skim afterwards. The evening finishes with Beethoven's Septet.
It runs 1 hour 30 minutes, from 7.30pm to 9pm on Sunday 16 May 2027, at 1 Esplanade Drive. Tickets are S$20, admission is for ages 7 and above, and it is performed in English by musicians from Singapore, presented by the SSO.
