Bengaluru's Parvaaz bring Kashmiri and Urdu folk-rock to the Esplanade's Outdoor Theatre — free, Sat 28 Nov, 7pm.
Parvaaz have been folding folk, blues, rock and psychedelia into one sound since forming in Bengaluru in 2010. They sing in Kashmiri and Urdu, with lyrics drawn from Sufi and mystic poetry — a fair distance from your standard Saturday night guitar band. Three albums in: Behosh (2012), Baran (2014) and Kun (2019). The set runs 45 minutes.
It happens at the DBS Foundation Outdoor Theatre at Esplanade, 1 Esplanade Drive, on Saturday 28 Nov 2026 from 7pm. Entry is free, so there is no ticket decision to agonise over. If you have never heard a Kashmiri verse sit over a blues line, this is a good 45 minutes to find out.
