MYSTERIOUS SKIN Listening Party | Filmhouse 8:30pm

Anticipate Pictures is throwing a listening party for the Mysterious Skin soundtrack at Filmhouse on Fri 11 Sept 2026, from 8.30pm to 10.30pm. The evening marks the 4K restoration of the film, and the music gets the spotlight: Harold Budd and Robin Guthrie wrote and performed the score, with additional tracks from Slowdive, Sigur Ros and Cocteau Twins. That's the whole of the lineup, and it's plenty.

Guthrie co-founded Cocteau Twins, and his work with Budd became a quiet landmark for anyone who likes their guitars smeared into something closer to weather. Budd has since died, which gives the night a weight beyond the usual release-party cheer. If you've worn out the record, hearing it in a room with other people is the point.

There's also a board where you're invited to pin a memory of a friendship that carried you through a rough patch. Whether you write a sentence or just read what others have left, it's a small, human thing to do between tracks.

A note on the RSVP: it's full as of Wed 9 Sept 2026. The list was used to gauge attendance numbers, and an RSVP doesn't come with a promo item. If you're already on it, turn up early enough to settle in before 8.30pm; if you're not, keep an eye on Anticipate Pictures for any future screenings of the restoration.
