Singapore’s first F1 Sprint weekend, under lights at Marina Bay — two races instead of one, and Lana Del Rey, Janet Jackson and The Killers on the stages. Walkabouts from $198.
Three nights when the city centre becomes a racetrack. The Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix runs under lights around Marina Bay — and 2026 is the first time Singapore has run the Sprint format, which means a competitive session every single day and two actual races instead of one.
The weekend, session by session
Friday 9 October: Practice 1 at 4.30pm — the only practice all weekend — then Sprint Qualifying at 8.30pm
Saturday 10 October: The Sprint at 5pm, a 100km dash with no mandatory pit stop, then Grand Prix Qualifying at 9pm
Sunday 11 October: The Grand Prix, lights out at 8pm
The Sprint replaces the usual third practice session and carries up to eight championship points. Saturday is the day that changes most: it used to be qualifying and nothing else, and now it is a race plus qualifying in the same evening.
Who is playing
Friday: JJ Lin, Split Enz, Cortis
Saturday: The Killers, Goo Goo Dolls, Zara Larsson
Sunday: Lana Del Rey, Janet Jackson, James Arthur
The DJ stages run their own bill — DJ Snake, Major Lazer Soundsystem and TOKiMONSTA on Friday, Rev Run and Flight Facilities on Saturday, Mark Ronson and ZHU on Sunday. Smaller stages carry Milky Chance, Portugal. The Man, Ezra Collective, Peking Duk, Spacey Jane and The Rubens.
Getting in
Most of it has gone. Every three-day grandstand is sold out, as are Skyline, Bayfront, Promenade, Raffles and the whole Zone 1 combination. What is left is mostly single-day: Zone 4 Walkabout from $198 on Friday, Premier Walkabout from $298, Stamford grandstand from $228.
There is a Friday-and-Saturday sprint bundle at $368 for Zone 4, which is the cheapest way to see two competitive sessions and two nights of music. Wheelchair-accessible platforms at Empress start at $38 and are listed separately from the general grandstands.
Before you go 🧭
- Every day has racing now
- This is Singapore’s first Sprint weekend, so Friday is no longer just practice — it has Sprint Qualifying, and Saturday has the Sprint itself plus Grand Prix Qualifying. Saturday is arguably the fullest day of the three.
- What you can carry in
- Bags must be under 20 litres, and there is no cloakroom. One water bottle up to 1 litre per person is allowed and there are refill points inside; no other outside food or drink. Camera lenses over 30cm combined length are turned away.
- It is a walk, and it is hot
- A walkabout ticket is standing and walking, not a seat — the circuit loops 4.9km. Humidity sits around 80% even after dark, which is why drivers lose two to three kilos in a race. Wear shoes you can stand in for six hours.
- Do not drive
- Roads around Marina Bay close progressively from late September. Marina Bay, City Hall, Esplanade and Promenade MRT all feed the circuit, and trains run later over the race weekend.
- Rain or shine
- The event runs in wet weather and October is wet. Big and golf umbrellas are not allowed in the grandstands, so bring a poncho rather than an umbrella.
