You do not need a race ticket to feel F1 weekend
Orchard Road turns into a racing playground for three nights, admission free, while the circuit charges $198 just to stand up.

The race is expensive and largely sold out. The city around it is neither. Grand Prix Season Singapore runs 2 to 11 October, and most of what it puts on the streets costs nothing at all.

Orchard Paddock, 8 to 10 October
Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza becomes a race-themed block party for three nights, 4pm to midnight, free to walk into. It is built in four parts: Stage Takeovers running live sets, games and racing films; Activity Pit-Stops with a drift track, a racing simulator and car displays; a Refuel Station of food and drink vendors; and a Circuit Card stamp rally threaded through all of it.
Collect seven stamps and you are in the draw for a DongFeng Performance 007, which they value at $218,000. Free entry with a car as the prize is a fair trade for an evening on Orchard Road.
Pick your night deliberately. Thursday is the one with the movie screenings and the fuller live line-up. Friday and Saturday swap those for stage games. All three run 4pm to midnight.
The season around it
GPSS is the umbrella over ten days of it — pop-ups, parties and street activations scattered across the city, most free, none requiring you to go near a grandstand. It is the part of the weekend Singapore actually lives in, as opposed to watches on television.
The sound carries further than you think
If you are anywhere near Marina Bay you will hear the cars whether you bought a ticket or not — a 2026 car is quieter than the V8s that opened this circuit in 2008, but a street circuit bounces sound off buildings in a way a purpose-built track does not.
Plenty of people treat the weekend as an excuse to be somewhere with a view and a drink rather than inside the fence. Rooftops on the bay book out months ahead; the free move is to be walking the Marina Bay waterfront promenade on Sunday evening and let the noise find you.
And if you do want in
The cheapest legitimate way through the gate is a Friday Zone 4 Walkabout at $198, which now includes Sprint Qualifying rather than just practice. The Friday-and-Saturday sprint bundle is $368 for two nights and two competitive sessions.
