The Salon with Tan Twan Eng

Tan Twan Eng, shortlisted for the Booker Prize, takes the floor at Capella Singapore for an evening on what sits behind his novels. His latest, The House of Doors, came out in 2023 and works through history, memory and human connection — the sort of material that tends to make for a good conversation rather than a straight reading. It is one of the Singapore Writers Festival 2026 sessions, so expect a literary crowd.

The talk runs Thursday 19 Nov 2026, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, at 1 The Knolls on Sentosa Island — a two-hour stretch, so there is room for the questions you have been holding since the last page. Worth choping the date in the group chat if anyone in it reads fiction seriously. Being on Sentosa, factor in the trip across from town.
