New animation shorts from Japan, part of OSFF 2026's Current Frames programme — Objectifs, Thu 29 Oct, 7.30pm, S$10.
OSFF 2026's Current Frames strand turns its attention to animation with NeW Wave, a programme of new short works from Japan. It runs one evening only at Objectifs — Centre for Photography & Film on Middle Road, which puts the whole thing in a room built for looking at moving images properly rather than a laptop screen.
The screening starts at 7.30pm and wraps at 9pm, so a straightforward hour and a half. Tickets are S$10 — small money for a batch of new work you will not find on any streaming service, and easy to fit around a weeknight dinner beforehand.
