Get Crafty! – Fenbao Sand Art

Fenbao, the Mid-Autumn Festival's beloved lantern character, gets the sand art treatment at Flower Dome's Australian Garden. The activity is simple and satisfying: colour in your own Fenbao, one grain at a time, in a session that takes about 15 minutes. It runs on 17 and 18 Sep 2026, then again from 24 to 27 Sep 2026, daily from 1.30pm to 5.30pm.

The craft corner sits inside the Flower Dome, where over 1.5 million plants from every continent except Antarctica fill the conservatory. Entry to the Flower Dome is bought separately, so factor that in. The sand art itself is free to take part in, with registration done on site and places given on a first-come-first-served basis, subject to stock.

Designed for ages 5 and above, the activity welcomes young crafters, though children under 12 must be with an adult. Each participant gets roughly 15 minutes to complete their Fenbao, making it an easy add-on to a Mid-Autumn Festival outing. The Flower Dome is open 9.00am to 9.00pm daily, so you can pair the session with other displays like Lilytopia or the Jurassic World experience at Cloud Forest.

The Mid-Autumn Festival 2026 runs from 12 to 27 Sep, with evening activities at Golden Garden, Supertree Grove, Bayfront Plaza and Flower Dome from 6.00pm to 10.00pm. If you're making a day of it, note that Garden Rhapsody plays at Supertree Grove at 7.45pm and 8.45pm daily, and Borealis runs on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays from 8.00pm to 8.30pm.
