Spooktacular Flea Market

A void deck is the most Singaporean of market halls, and on Saturday 24 October the one at Block 782E Woodlands Crescent fills up for the Canberra Zone 10 RN Spooktacular Flea Market. It runs 7pm to 9.30pm, so it is an after-dinner wander rather than a whole-afternoon commitment — close enough to walk to if you live in the block, worth a bus ride if you don't.

Come for the browse: stalls set up under the block, neighbours doing the rounds, the usual void-deck breeze. The 7pm start means the light is already gone by the time the first table is fully laid out, which makes for a different feel from the Sunday morning flea circuits. Two and a half hours is plenty of time to loop it twice and still head home before the MRT crowds thin out.
