50 planters, four comedians and a stadium-sized Saturday

Saturday is doing all the work this weekend — 50 planters, four comedians, one stadium, and three free markets if your wallet says no.

Saturday 17 October is carrying this entire weekend, so plan it properly. There is a workshop that sends you home with dirt under your nails, a stadium tour stop, a comedy bill with four countries on it, and three free markets that ask nothing of you but a browse. Pick two and you are sorted.

Coffee & Plant Care Workshop by QORE × Alchemist × Soilboy is the one to move on. Saturday 17 October, 1pm, on the top floor of Alchemist Arab Street, S$198, and only 50 of these exist — the 3pm session is already full. Ninety minutes of watching filter coffee being brewed, then repotting a plant with the spent grounds into a coffee-waste planter that leaves with you. If you want the 1pm, chope it now.

BIGBANG 2026-2027 WORLD TOUR < XX : COSMOS > IN SINGAPORE hits the National Stadium on Saturday 17 October, 7pm, tickets S$158–498. Worth flagging: it is the same evening as Mic Drop, so a stadium at 7pm and an Esplanade hall at 7.30pm do not both fit into one night. Decide which crowd you are.

Mic Drop puts four comedians — from Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and India — behind one microphone at Esplanade Concert Hall, Saturday 17 October, 7.30pm, S$68–108. Jio the friend who insists they never laugh out loud, sit somewhere in the middle, and let four very different senses of humour do the work.

Little Wild Landscapes: A mindful nature printmaking workshop is the S$27.31 answer to the same Saturday, Saturday 17 October, 3pm. A relaxed, creative afternoon reconnecting with nature through art, and a gentler way to spend three hours than anything with a stage. If S$198 for the coffee workshop is a stretch, this is your day instead — same date, different pace, far less money.

Remix by Fleawhere @ Dhoby Xchange is free and runs until 31 December, which makes it the default plan for a Saturday when nothing else sticks. It sits in the air-conditioned underpass above Dhoby Ghaut MRT, with preloved clothes, upcycled homeware and lifestyle goods from a rotating set of sellers and brands. No ticket, no timing, no commitment.

Dhoby Ghaut Makers’ Market is also at Dhoby Ghaut — Staytion Lifestyle Centre, Dhoby Ghaut, free, until 31 December. Curated by INVADE, it gathers handmade crafts and one-of-a-kind creations from makers across the region, which is a completely different browse from the one you just did. Do both in one MRT stop and call the afternoon done.

SOMEWHERE @ Bugis by Fleawhere opens every weekend at Bugis Street, free, until 31 December, with a rotation of vendors selling pre-loved and indie brand pieces, plus spaces available for students. The stock changes with the weekend, so it rewards a wander rather than a targeted hunt.

So: chope the 1pm planter spot, choose between a stadium and a comedy mic, and keep the free ones in your back pocket for the Saturday you wake up with no plan at all. That is the weekend, sorted.
