The Star Theatre is the 5,000-seat horseshoe auditorium inside The Star Performing Arts Centre at The Star Vista, Buona Vista. The back row is 56m from the stage. Here’s what to know before a show, from the venue’s own pages.

Getting there

  • Buona Vista MRT (East-West and Circle lines), Exit A or C, then about 5 minutes along a sheltered walkway to The Star Vista.
  • Buses stop on North Buona Vista Road (74, 91, 92, 95, 191, 196, 198, 200) and Commonwealth Avenue West (105, 106, 147, 185).

Which level is my seat on?

  • Level 5 — the Grand Foyer, where the cloakroom is.
  • Levels 6–7 — the Stalls.
  • Levels 8–9 — Circle 1.
  • Levels 9–10 — Circle 2.

The rules

  • No outside food or drink. The foyer bars sell snacks and drinks, including alcohol, from an hour before the show — finish them in the foyer.
  • No photos, recording or live-streaming unless the promoter allows it. Cameras with detachable lenses go to the cloakroom.
  • Everyone is searched on entry.
  • Unless the event says otherwise, babies in arms and children without tickets aren’t admitted. Booster seats can be borrowed from the cloakroom.
  • The cloakroom (Level 5) is free and open for all publicly ticketed shows. Latecomer and binocular rules vary by event — check yours.

Food, parking and getting home

The Star Vista mall is open 10am to 10pm, so dinner before the show is downstairs. The car park has over 800 lots, entered from Vista Exchange Green or Rochester Drive: Monday to Saturday $1.90 for the first hour then $0.95 per 30 minutes; Sundays and public holidays $2.30 then $1.15, capped at $10 a day on weekends and public holidays; $2 per entry from midnight to 6am.

Good to know: the theatre has no Wi-Fi, the nursing room is on Level 3, and wheelchair seats are on every tier — request them when you book, and ask for mobility help at least 24 hours ahead on 6636 0055.
