The National Stadium and the Singapore Indoor Stadium share one precinct, The Kallang, and one MRT station. This is the practical half of any show there: which exit for your gate, what gets through the bag check, where to leave a bag that doesn’t, and how to get home. The rules below are the venue’s own Conditions of Entry (November 2025).

One thing first: your event can be stricter than the venue. Recent concerts here banned cameras of any kind, GoPros and tablets, and allowed collapsible umbrellas only. Check your event’s page the day before you pack.

Which MRT exit for your gate

  • National Stadium, Gates 1–5 and 18–23: Stadium MRT (CC6) Exit A, turn right, then the escalator up to the Promenade on Level 3.
  • National Stadium, Gates 6–17: Stadium MRT Exit B, turn left, then up to Level 3. The gates are signposted from the Promenade.
  • Singapore Indoor Stadium: Stadium MRT Exit A, walk straight into OCBC Square, then turn left. Tanjong Rhu (TE23) Exit 2 is about 5 minutes away.
  • Other stations for the National Stadium: Tanjong Rhu (TE23) Exit 2, Mountbatten (CC7) Exit A and Kallang (EW10) Exit A are each about 10–15 minutes on foot.
  • By bus: stop 80219 (Natl Stadium) for 10, 14, 14A, 16, 16M, 70, 70A, 70M and 196. Service 11 stops right by the Indoor Stadium.

What the bag check lets through

The same base rules apply at both venues:

  • Bags no bigger than 35 x 20 x 30cm — it has to fit under your seat. Anything too big to screen is turned away.
  • No outside food or drink, bottled water included. An empty plastic bottle is fine, and the National Stadium says you can fill it inside.
  • Umbrellas are allowed but can’t be opened in your seat.
  • No video cameras, audio recorders, tripods, monopods or selfie sticks, and no professional cameras with telephoto or zoom lenses.
  • Light sticks over 40cm, fan or LED boards over A3 and banners over 1m x 2m need pre-approval. Some concerts allow official light sticks only.
  • Also out: helmets, chairs and stools, balloons and inflatables, drones, whistles and other noise makers, and laser pointers.
  • No vaping anywhere, and smoking only in designated areas. Under-12s must be with someone 18 or over.

Bag too big? There are lockers, open 24 hours: at the National Stadium on the overhead bridge from Kallang MRT near Gate 15, and at Carpark E Level 2B; at the Indoor Stadium beside the Admin Office (Level 1), at the North Forecourt lift lobby (Level 2) and by the deposit counter. A standard locker is $6 and a large one $10 for six hours, then $5 an hour; pay by card, phone or EZ-Link. They do run out. Some events also run a bag deposit counter at $10 an item.

Doors and re-entry

There’s no fixed door time — each event sets its own, so check your ticket or the event page. Recent Indoor Stadium shows opened doors about an hour and a half before the start. Re-entry is restricted, tickets are non-transferable and your ID may be checked, so bring what you need for the night.

Food before the show

Outside food isn’t allowed in, but food and drink are sold inside, and the concession stands take cards, contactless and cash. Before the show, Kallang Wave Mall next door is open 10am to 10pm, with the My Kampung food court plus restaurants such as Ayam Penyet President and A-One Signature; the mall is under upgrading works until 2028, so some shops may be shut.

For hawker food, Old Airport Road Food Centre — 168 cooked-food stalls — is about 1.3km from the National Stadium, roughly a 20-minute walk. It closes for cleaning on 7–10 December 2026.

Getting home

  • MRT: Stadium station gets crowded after a show. Tanjong Rhu, Mountbatten and Kallang are all 10–15 minutes’ walk if the queue is long. Later trains are arranged event by event, not as a rule — check the event page or SMRT for that night.
  • Grab: search “The Kallang” and pick Point A (Stadium Drive, north of the National Stadium, for Gates 8–23) or Point B (Stadium Crescent by taxi stand I28, for Gates 1–7 and the Indoor Stadium).
  • Taxi stands: I28 on Stadium Crescent (by the Indoor Stadium), I29 on Stadium Boulevard (by OCBC Arena) and I30 on Stadium Place (by Kallang Wave Mall).
  • Driving: Carparks B, C, D and E serve different National Stadium gates; Carpark L and Carpark B are nearest the Indoor Stadium. On big nights the venue asks people to take public transport.

Questions on the night: The Kallang’s hotline is +65 6653 8900 (7am to 10pm).

Questions, answered 🤔

What size bag can I bring to the National Stadium?

No bigger than 35 x 20 x 30cm — small enough to fit under your seat. The same limit applies at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Lockers nearby cost $6 (standard) or $10 (large) for six hours.

Can I bring water into the National Stadium?

Not bottled water, and no outside food or drink. An empty plastic bottle is allowed, and the National Stadium says you can fill it inside. Some events ban plastic bottles altogether, so check your event page.

Which MRT exit should I use for the National Stadium?

Stadium MRT (Circle Line). Exit A for Gates 1–5 and 18–23, Exit B for Gates 6–17; both lead to the Level 3 Promenade, where the gates are signposted.

Where do I get a Grab after a concert at the Kallang?

Search “The Kallang” in the app and choose Point A on Stadium Drive (for National Stadium Gates 8–23) or Point B on Stadium Crescent by taxi stand I28 (for Gates 1–7 and the Indoor Stadium).

Can I bring an umbrella or a camera?

Umbrellas are allowed but can’t be opened in your seat; many concerts allow collapsible ones only. Professional cameras with zoom lenses, video cameras and selfie sticks are banned, and many concerts ban cameras of any kind.
