adidas Orchard Ignition: F1 Comes to Orchard Road
Catch a live Mercedes-AMG F1 car tearing down Orchard Road, with BABYMONSTER on hand—if you can win a pass.
By Onz Editorial · 16 August 2026
Orchard Road is about to become a race track. On 29 and 30 August 2026, adidas and the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team are laying a temporary 600-metre track along the street for a live race car demonstration and hot laps, with free viewing from public areas. It’s the closest most of us will get to an F1 car on Singapore roads.
The event, called adidas Orchard Ignition, also brings K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER to the party on 30 August, alongside local acts. But here’s the catch: while watching the cars is free, the fan festival and premium viewing spots are ticketed—and tickets aren’t sold. You have to win them through adidas promotions leading up to the event.
What’s happening on Orchard Road
Over the two days, a race car will be driven along a 600-metre stretch of Orchard Road. Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 driver Fred Vesti is behind the wheel for the demo, and hot laps will take place. If you just want to see and hear an F1 car up close, you can do so for free from public viewing areas along the road.
On 30 August, BABYMONSTER will be involved from 3pm, giving the official flag-off and then taking a hot lap themselves. It’s a rare chance to see an F1 car in action in the heart of the shopping belt.
The fan festival at Design Orchard
At Design Orchard, a fan festival will feature BABYMONSTER with local acts Benjamin Kheng, Iman Fandi and DJ KIARA. This is the only place to catch the performances, and access requires a pass worth S$168 if you were buying (but you can’t).
How to get in: no tickets sold, only prizes
All experiences are won through adidas promotions running 14 to 25 August 2026. There are three tiers of passes, each with different entry methods. Note that all promotions require adiClub SG membership — sign up on the adidas app if you’re not already a member. Here’s the breakdown:
• All-access pass (worth S$1,500): includes garage tour, viewing deck access, and fan festival. To enter, spend S$250 in store or online (including at least one adidas Motorsport item) and redeem adiClub points on the adidas app.
• Viewing deck access (worth S$428): watch the demo and hot laps from a dedicated deck. Enter by spending S$80 on a single receipt at participating Orchard Road partners.
• Fan festival pass (worth S$168): enter by redeeming 500 adiClub points on the adidas app, but this is only open to L3 and L4 adiClub SG members. Spending S$80 also gets you into the draw for this pass. Each method gets you a pair of passes.
What to watch out for
The biggest catch: you can’t just show up and pay. If you don’t win, you’ll be watching the race car from the public areas, which are free but might be crowded. Also, the all-access and app promotions are limited to adiClub SG members, so if you’re not one, sign up in advance.
Exact timings for the demo and hot laps haven’t been announced, so keep an eye on adidas’s channels for the schedule. And if you’re hoping to see BABYMONSTER, note they only appear on 30 August, and only at the fan festival — which you need a pass for.
The verdict
If you love F1 or K-pop, this is a must-watch — the free public viewing might be the best deal in town. But if you’re not willing to jump through adiClub hoops and spend to enter draws, you’ll be limited to the free areas, and you might struggle to see much. Skip it if you’re not interested in racing or if you dislike crowded events.
