The weekend actually worth leaving the house for
A private sound bath in Punggol, a seven-month theatre run in Siglap, and free Ashtanga in the heartlands — the three things that earn a slot on your weekend this week.

Most weekends, the honest answer to "what are we doing?" is nothing, and that is fine. But three things on the calendar this week are worth putting pants on for — and none of them involve a shopping mall.
Private 1-1 Sound Bath and/or Yoga is the pick of the lot if you have been running on fumes. It is a one-to-one session at 409D Northshore Dr — just you, the bowls, and whoever is guiding you, at S$160. No class full of strangers breathing in your ear, no rush to roll up your mat for the next slot. Book it for a Saturday or Sunday and you will walk out feeling like you have had a short holiday. Punggol is a trek if you live west, so plan the MRT ride and make a day of it.
Mare is the odd one out and that is exactly why it is interesting. The run begins Mon 20 Jul at 7pm at 19A Yarwood Ave, tickets at S$177.13, and it stretches seven months — so this is not a weekend one-off, it is something you can actually fit around your life rather than scramble for. Yarwood Ave is Siglap territory, which means you can pair it with dinner along the East Coast Road stretch before or after. If your group chat keeps saying "we should do something cultural", this is the reply.
Free Yoga at Nilayam is the no-excuse option. Ashtanga Yoga Nilayam Singapore opens its doors every last Sunday at 8.30am, and it costs nothing. If your last Sunday of the month is still unclaimed, an 8.30am start means you are done before brunch and the rest of the day is yours. Bring your own mat, go easy on yourself if you have never done Ashtanga — it is a proper practice, not a stretch class.

One to keep on the radar rather than act on now: SAFRA Open House 2026 runs the whole of September across all SAFRA clubs with free entry. Worth noting if you or the family have been meaning to check out a club without committing.

So: book the sound bath if you need to switch off, chope a date for Mare if you want a reason to leave the east side of the house, and set an alarm for the last Sunday of the month if you want the free one. Three options, one weekend, no mall required.
