Mums, this one's for you. The school run's done, the kids are (hopefully) asleep, and the week's half over. You deserve a night out that doesn't involve a playground. Here are five things you can actually do this week—some free, some cheap, all worth the MRT ride.

Women-only Improv Night (Taster) — Wed, 7:30PM @ Chapters @ Maxwell, Free. Sneak out after dinner for some free, no-experience-needed improv. It's women-only, so no awkward small talk with strangers—just quick laughs and a chance to flex your creative side. Indoor, central (a short walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT), and done by 9PM. You'll be home before the kids even notice you're gone.

Devotion in Splendour: Reading the Dunhuang Cave Temples — Thu, 7PM @ Asian Civilisations Museum, S$10. If you need a grown-up culture fix, this talk at ACM dives into the artistry and history of the Dunhuang cave temples. It's indoor, air-con, and quiet—perfect for a solo date with your own thoughts. After, stroll along the Singapore River to clear your head. S$10 is a steal for a museum evening.

New Moon in Leo + Solar Eclipse Healing Circle 2026 — Thu, 7:30PM @ A Space Between, S$6–41. Feeling a bit burnt out? This healing circle in Tanjong Pagar promises cosmic vibes and real connection under the solar eclipse. It's a niche pick, but if you're into wellness or just need a different kind of night out, the entry price starts at S$6. Indoor, so no weather worries. Bring an open mind and maybe a friend who's also slightly obsessed with astrology.

Spirit of Santal - Folk Dance Workshop — Thu, 6PM @ Esplanade Mall, price not listed. Fancy something active but not sweaty? This folk dance workshop introduces you to the expressive dances of Santal culture. It's at Esplanade Mall, so you can make a night of it—grab a bite after at one of the nearby eateries. Best of all, it's before the kids' bedtime, so you can sneak in some 'me time' and still be home for storytime. Check the Esplanade website for pricing details.

THURSDAY SOCIAL NIGHT — Thu, 7PM @ Stranger Conversations, S$24. If you're new to the area or just want to expand your mum circle, this laid-back social mixer is your chance. S$24 gets you a night of meeting new people in a relaxed setting. It's a great way to find new mum friends who get the 3AM wake-up calls. Indoor and central, so no taxi stress—just show up and chat.
