Every Thursday, a volunteer team from 华文媒体集团 takes over a corner of Toa Payoh Library to talk through the week's news in Chinese. Social issues, current affairs, entertainment and lifestyle pieces — the volunteers do the explaining, so you get the stories behind the headlines rather than a quick skim on your phone.

The session runs 3.30pm–4.30pm on level 3 of the library, in the Programme Zone, and it's held in Chinese. It's for seniors aged 50 and above, and it keeps to a weekly Thursday slot, so 15 Oct 2026 is simply the next one on the calendar.
