Kids aged 4 to 10 pair up one-to-one with volunteers from Neuroscience for a half-hour of reading at Geylang East Library.

One child, one volunteer, one half-hour of reading — that is the setup for Pages Together at Geylang East Library. Children aged 4 to 10 are matched one-to-one with volunteers from Neuroscience to read, share and connect across generations, in a session built around reading and conversation rather than a crowd. It is a quiet, small-group kind of Tuesday afternoon, and it runs in English.

The session runs 3.30pm to 4pm on Tuesday 13 Oct 2026, in the Activity Room on Level 1 of Geylang East Library. Admission is listed for preschoolers aged 4 to 6 and children aged 7 to 12, so the pairing spans early readers and the slightly older ones. Half an hour is short enough to hold a younger child's attention and long enough for a proper story — worth choping a slot if your kid is at that stage where reading with someone new feels like a treat.
