A Chinese-language library session for the 50-plus crowd: what generative AI is, which platforms do what, and how to write prompts that actually work.
A Monday afternoon at Sembawang Library's Programme Zone on Level 5, and the subject is generative AI — taught in Chinese, at a beginner's pace. The 90-minute workshop starts from the ground up: what Gen AI actually is and why it matters, then moves through the common functions of the popular platforms. Prompt writing gets its own airtime, covering how to phrase a request skilfully so you get something useful back.
It is aimed at those aged 50 and above, and runs 3pm to 4.30pm on Mon 12 Oct 2026 at Sembawang Library's Programme Zone on Level 5. The practical side is covered too — using Gen AI at work to make information search easier and to spark new ideas. Good for anyone who has opened a chatbot, typed something vague and quietly given up.
