A concert where five Singaporean composers pay homage to Lim Tze Peng's art through solo Chinese instruments.
Brushstrokes, Strings and Air is an audio-visual concert that pays homage to the artworks of Singaporean artist Lim Tze Peng. Five Singaporean composers have written new works for solo Chinese instruments — sheng, yangqin, guzheng, matouqin, and pipa — making this a fresh take on classical music with a local flavour. Lim's paintings are projected on screen and inspire the set design, so you get a feast for the eyes as well as the ears.
The concert runs for 1 hour and 30 minutes, starting at 7.30pm on Thursday 27 August 2026 at the Esplanade Recital Studio. Tickets are S$40, and it's suitable for ages 6 and above. If you're keen on local art and music, this is one to chope early.
