People with disabilities, their families and caregivers tell their own stories across a full day at the National Library Building.
Beyond Labels: Our Families, Our Stories hands the mic over to people with disabilities, along with their family members and caregivers, to relate their own experiences in their own words. Educators and community members are part of the room too. It is a day built on first-person accounts rather than secondhand summaries of them.
It runs 9am to 5pm on Sat 10 Oct at The Plaza, on Level 1 of the National Library Building, and everything is in English. The stated audience stretches from young adults through to seniors and parents, and persons with disabilities are named among those it is for.
